Engineered to spec. An HV substation is not an off-the-shelf product: voltage, power, single-line diagram, switchgear (open-air AIS or enclosed GIS) and the protection plan are defined with you, then validated by witnessed tests before energisation.

Power transformers & HV substations, engineered to order

Above roughly 50 kV, projects move into HV (HTB) territory: power transformers, HV switchgear, protection and civil works, each studied case by case. These are not catalogue items, they are engineered to your single-line diagram, your DSO's prescriptions and your site constraints, then built, factory-tested (FAT) and delivered turnkey.

Frequently asked

What voltage range do you cover?

HV substations and power transformers are addressed on a study basis, typically from 36 kV up into the HV range. Each project is scoped against your single-line diagram and DSO requirements.

Is a factory acceptance test included?

Yes, FAT in the factory is standard on power transformers, and independent witness testing (KEMA / TÜV) can be arranged. The test programme is agreed at quotation.

Do you deliver turnkey?

Yes, from study and manufacturing through abnormal-load transport, erection and on-site commissioning, with a single point of accountability. The exact scope is defined in the quotation.

Agree the complete supply scope

ScopeWhat the quotation needs to define
EnclosureConcrete, metal or in-building arrangement is subject to the specification, manufacturing route and supporting evidence. A metal alternative needs the client’s approval.
Equipment and factory workTransformer, switchgear, LV board, internal links and factory tests are itemised in the quotation.
Cable links between substationsSeparate scope: route length, cable quantities per phase, conductor and screen ratings, fault current, clearing time, ducts and terminations must be checked against the interfaces at both ends.
Site workCivil works, ducts, unloading, lifting, earthing, cable pulling, terminations, testing and commissioning are assigned explicitly to each party.
Documents and acceptanceComponent reports do not by themselves demonstrate the complete assembly. The agreed dossier identifies applicable assembly verifications, drawings, routine tests and any type-test evidence.
Delivery and programmeDelivery point, Incoterm, import responsibilities and a project schedule are confirmed in writing. A generic transformer lead time does not establish a complete substation schedule.

For EU MV switchgear up to and including 24 kV, the F-gas rules concern putting equipment into operation from 1 January 2026, with specified derogations. We study fluorinated-gas-free insulation with suitable switching technology. Vacuum interruption alone does not establish that insulation is SF6-free. Regulation (EU) 2024/573, Article 13.
